Dear allergy season, thanks to my constant sneezing I had to get a jumbo hand sanitizer, thanks to my dry hands from sanitizing I had to start using my purse cream at work, and because I have a need for all purpose balm, for my lips and dry cuticles from sanitizing, I had to use my all purpose rose balm! And they now decorate my desk! Thanks Allergy season, I am officially high maintenance.

My Current Beauty & Skin Care Faves! by ericariviere featuring COVERGIRL

I rarely change my routine, but I had to try a few things this summer and they’re now my new items in rotation!
First of all, the coverage and long-wearing properties of the Covergirl Ready, Set Gorgeous line are just beyond! I love this, and think Covergirl is on to something! It’s a low price luxury, and it’s comparable to the coverage in an old favorite, the Rimmel 24 Hour Foundation. The Powder is very reminiscent of the Rimmel Stay Matte powder and I’ve found myself reaching for it more than the Rimmel Powder. (Extra tip, if you’re fair, like me, use their powder in shade 305 as bronzer. It’s not orangey, it blends amazingly and it has zero shimmer!) I had to change up the face wash, I was exfoliating too much and was killing my skin. I started to use First Aid Beauty’s Face Cleanser, it’s sensitive, washes away any and all impurities and has really kept my hormonal acne at bay! I love it. I also started to use the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream as a face moisturizer, it’s lightweight, you don’t need much of it and it’s perfect for the coming winter-y months, when it’s a little more dry. Speaking of moisture, Nivea’s Soft Moisturizing Creme has been one of my favorites for a long time, but I started to us Soap & Glory’s The Righteous Body Butter, and I loved it. I went back to Nivea after a few weeks and, honestly, there’s a reason that this was my favorite for so long, it works, it hydrates and it makes your skin feel, well, soft! I have been using the new Herbal Essences Naked line, my favorite is the volumizing shampoo and conditioner, the smell is truly spa-like, and it’s therapeutic. I highly suggest the shine spray and the volumizing shampoo and conditioner, not out of this world, but a great break from the harsh chemicals we put in our hair otherwise. The last thing on my current faves list is the mango mask, to rid you of blemishes, from Forever 21. I’m not one to go into a clothing retailer and try out a beauty product, but it’s a dollar and I thought: What’s the worst that could happen? (I always conveniently forget how sensitive my skin is.) Well, it’s great, and it smells yummy, and if you can get past the fear in my son’s eyes when I do any mask, it’s all worth it. - Erica
